The idea of synthesis of different concepts, spiritual, religious or social, seems to have taken a back stage now. Whatever real integration we find is taking through commercial or industrial expansion undertaken by different countries. We talk about Financial Inclusion now, but not about spiritual synthesis. Though I find Sensex aligned to ups and down in Dow-Jones; but can not trace any significant synthesis, however minute, between say Maha Kumbh Mela in India and the X-Mas that is celebrated. So, spiritual synthesis has been conveniently put into the back burner.
In this context, finding of a common platform between Sri Aurobindo & Rabindranath Tagore seems to be a remote possibility. It is commonly said that great ideas re-surface at appropriate times! We never really know when this appropriate time will come…
However, it is always interesting to look for synthesis, because ultimately that is a prime goal in all fields of life. I shall be really happy if genuine attempts along this line is reflected in this website.
Synthesis is difficult to come at this moment as the human species are not yet ready to realise it . Our entire focus is outward . There are four stages – physical , vital , mental and then inner psychic being . We are hovering in the vital plane and it is so strong that it doesn’t allow anything to penetrate and go beyond that in search of that inner being where the divine rests . In meditation it is to concentrate from naval and go further upwards to end with the third eye at the forehead . So , it is to look within to search your own self . With strong vitals we do just the opposite , looking outwards which is all material and the result is all vices . With more sufferings and destructions a time will arrive when to find solace and reach the peace we will have to take shelter within ourselves and then the focus will return . You are absolutely right everything has it’s own time but for the moment it is not to be .
